Raider Wil (00:02.194)
And welcome back to the Silver and Black Radio podcast. I'm your host, Raider Will. And guys, I am here with my misfit crew. got my boy, Tony B representing TBH Spokane.
Tony Bova (00:19.346)
Back at it, let's go.
Val (00:21.859)
Yeah
Raider Wil (00:22.374)
got my girl representing DFW for life, Lady Val.
Val (00:30.933)
you
Raider Wil (00:32.486)
Jesus that I got my boy on screen and off screen Maddie B
Matty B (00:42.67)
What up, man?
Val (00:43.094)
You can't do that! That's mine! Dang, you figured out my secret.
Matty B (00:46.571)
Alright, I food in my mouth.
Raider Wil (00:49.522)
Yo!
Absolutely. But yo, guys, breaking news, we finally got our GM, we finally got our head coach. Let's get into it. Tony B, I want to know what you think about bringing the 73 year old heavyweight. Yo, Pete Carroll is named head coach of the Raiders today, baby.
Matty B (00:57.758)
Awesome.
Raider Wil (01:24.699)
that.
Tony Bova (01:24.914)
Man, I'm going tell you this right now. He wasn't my first choice, but it's not a bad choice. And this is the way I was just telling you before we came on is everybody wants an experienced coach until we get an experienced coach. They want a coach that can have us battling with the top coaches in the division. And now that we got one, now they're mad. I don't get it. Like I'm seeing a lot of, I'm seeing a lot of he's 73 year old.
Matty B (01:51.325)
No.
Tony Bova (01:54.736)
when it was a three year contract with an option for the fourth and they're saying, I hope the option is that he's still alive when he's in the fourth year. Like it's stupid, it's crazy. He's beyond successful every step of the way. He's gonna have coaches that are gonna wanna coach with him. They're gonna have players that are gonna wanna play for him. It's great signing, it's gonna work. And he's got the experience.
dealing with front office type personnel so it can help make that connection with the new GM. It's gonna be, it's, don't see, people that are complaining don't have a viable reason when you ask them why you don't want them.
I don't get it, so.
Raider Wil (02:45.425)
No, no, no, I got you. Yo, Matty B.
Matty B (02:49.13)
So Pete Carroll was my first option. Like said that numerous times in our chats. Like I thought Pete Carroll should get it, but I was wrong. Anyways. Yeah. I think he's great, man. I think it's a good pickup and I think it's gonna, I think it's gonna honestly help not only our team, but I think it'll also help Mark Davis in a way too. Cause I think he's never.
Tony Bova (02:50.66)
Mmm.
Matty B (03:18.855)
had a guy like Pete Carroll where he's had a winning organization and has the background that he has coaching for him. So I think Mark actually learned a thing or two about consistency with Pete Carroll. Tom Brady already kind of has that, you know, little bit of mentality, I guess. I don't know. see. But I think it's a great pick up. Yeah, he's 73 years old, but he's not out there playing football. He's coaching.
So who cares how old he is? If he can coach the game, that's all that matters. So, and he's proven it time and time again, both college and NFL that he can get it done. So I'm cool with it.
Raider Wil (04:05.967)
Lady Val.
Val (04:08.607)
You know, when we were reading off the candidates for the head coach.
Val (04:19.483)
I'm pretty sure I said he could probably bring some insight. It doesn't seem bad. like everybody's like both of us, everybody's mad, you know, cause he's like older, but look at the wisdom and insight he has. He's active, you know, like he like just be happy. We got somebody. Okay. It's somebody that has been successful.
that has been successful in quarterbacks and building a team. So what, he's 73.
Be happy, okay? Like, I get it. Like, Raider Nation, like, we are traumatized, okay? We are like, eh, falls home, like, we get it. But this is not like, this isn't Josh McDaniel's and, you know, like, come on. Put a little faith into it. It's not that bad, okay? You gotta give everybody a chance.
Raider Wil (05:20.891)
No, absolutely. Yo, guys, I'm gonna tell you the truth. When this news came in, I said, thank you, Jesus. We finally get it together. Look, guys, everybody's gonna say, hey, it's just like Tony B said, he's 73, so what? This guy is 73, he will come and bang this shit out of your grandma. I mean, the man has juice.
Val (05:30.108)
you
Val (05:40.376)
So So what?
Matty B (05:45.881)
Hahaha!
Raider Wil (05:50.066)
I mean like this dude is 70 years old and he runs around like he's 35. He's chewing gum. Hey, I'm telling you right now, we're going to see this guy doing the press conference like Tio did that day. He's out there going to be doing crunches. Going to be like, uh, uh, uh, let me put these out. Let me show you guys that I still got it.
Val (05:54.363)
Mm-hmm.
Val (06:11.618)
Hehehehehe
Raider Wil (06:16.229)
I'd be like, the man runs up and down the field like he's 35. I mean, like his energy is just contagious. The way that he's going to attack the team and make the cultural changes and have the proven record. All right. This guy isn't going to come in. Everybody was hyped up about Ben Johnson. I love Ben Johnson. I think he would have been a great pick. But to say that this isn't just a great combination.
Tony Bova (06:28.906)
you
Raider Wil (06:44.946)
absolute bullcrap. This is a great combination for the Raiders. You got an experienced coach with the young GM with the coach also having GM experience. This means that that guy is a developer that he knows what he's doing that he's drafted well. He was with the Seattle Seahawks for 14 years.
Val (06:53.976)
you
Tony Bova (07:10.761)
10 of those years in the playoffs.
Raider Wil (07:12.689)
10 in the playoffs. has a 60 % game winning percentage.
Matty B (07:19.184)
That don't mean shit on the internet.
Raider Wil (07:22.565)
Hey, I don't give a shit about what people think on the internet. I'm just keeping it a buck here. I mean, let's be real.
Val (07:27.049)
Yeah, like look at the paper trail.
Matty B (07:29.558)
I know I agree with you guys. I'm just saying I see like you guys what you guys are saying about all the fucking shit talking on the internet about him It's fucking ridiculous man. Like everything you just named off is like, how could you not be happy about that pig?
Raider Wil (07:43.41)
And this is this is exactly my point. And it's like Tony Bova said. We got people looking at one aspect. Let's be real. Do you guys feel like he can come in and change the culture inside the Raiders? Tony Bova, yes or no?
Tony Bova (08:01.027)
Absolutely, yes, and it's and as long as he can do he's got three years if he does it in a couple years and turns it around we might not be looking at a
15 20 year career obviously But we're looking at a change to get us going in the right direction now everybody wants to win now I Say yes
Raider Wil (08:21.041)
Gotcha. Maddie B.
Matty B (08:24.579)
yeah, for sure, 100%. I think you can change it around.
Raider Wil (08:30.191)
Lady Val. no, no, go ahead. Go ahead, Matty B. ahead.
Matty B (08:30.469)
He's got the, yep. Go ahead, go ahead. No, no, no, you're good, you're good. Go ahead, Val.
Val (08:35.629)
Go on, go on, go on Matty B.
Raider Wil (08:39.537)
I you wanted us to hear what you got. What you got? Say it, say it, it. Let's go.
Matty B (08:39.748)
No, I think-
Val (08:42.497)
Say it, say it with your chest.
Matty B (08:43.27)
He's a proven commodity man fucking He's he's no slouch. That's for sure. He's not you know, yeah everybody's high on Ben Johnson like you said, you know, but Ben Johnson is no different than Antonio Pierce when you come down to it, know He's he was not he's never been a head coach. So how do you know he's gonna be good? You know Pete Carroll's proven it again and again and again, It's an obvious choice for me, you know, so
Tony Bova (08:55.262)
and about the importance of of of of importance of importance of of of importance of of of of importance importance the importance of of importance importance importance importance of importance of importance importance of of importance of of of of importance of importance of of of of
Raider Wil (09:11.825)
I got you brother, got you. Lady Val, you think he can come in and change the culture?
Val (09:14.836)
You know.
Yeah, okay. So I saw a video today on Instagram and I don't even know if it's an old video, but he's old in the video. So no, no disrespect, but he's, he's running around. He's throwing the football. You know what I mean? Like he is active, active. If he's moving around, I mean, obviously like he's, he's building that connection.
And that also shows like why he's been so successful at what he has done. Like, look at his resume. Y'all mad about an age. Look at the work he's done. He's a successful man.
Tony Bova (09:52.153)
Yes.
Raider Wil (10:04.313)
Absolutely. Absolutely.
Val (10:05.568)
Take it with a grain of salt peeps. Okay. Pull out your Tony's man up, woman up and say, let's get it. Let's do this. Instead of being, you know.
Raider Wil (10:20.625)
Okay, 100%. No, I got you. And guys, you guys, I think you guys hit a lot. Here's one thing that Tony said I looked. We are not looking to get this guy for 10, 15 years. What we are looking to do, it's changed the culture within the locker room now to make us successful in the future. Because in order to be successful in the future,
Val (10:21.813)
I'm just saying, I'm just saying.
Tony Bova (10:31.044)
Thank
Tony Bova (10:36.228)
you
Raider Wil (10:48.976)
We have to set up a foundation now. I just mentioned, hey, this guy has coached in the league for plenty of years. He's going to bring on a staff that he can bring in a guy under his wing and say, hey, you're going to take over. When I am done, you take over, keep doing what we're doing. You're going to learn from this model and it's going to work the right way. And the way that the Raiders structured the contract,
Absolute brilliance. OK, I'm going to tell you guys right now. It's three years with an option for the fourth year. That puts him at 76 years old. It puts him halfway through spy tech's five year deal. Spy tech and then decide, hey, I can keep my guy. And keep this going, or he could decide, hey, you know what? Thank you, Pete.
You've changed the culture. You've done what all that you can do. It's time for us to head in a younger direction. Guys, tell me that the Raiders didn't bang it out with the 100 besides not getting BJ or BJ. Look, if we didn't get Coach Johnson, OK, we would have been batting a thousand. But I'm thinking we're batting at least nine fifty. I'd be like, we got to be at that A plus range right now.
with the front office that we just got.
Raider Wil (12:22.363)
Maddie B.
Hit me with your dots, man.
Matty B (12:28.178)
Yeah, man. You got to start with culture first. And that's where you, you know, like you say you want to win now. That's where you win now. Right now is starting where you're, what you're talking about. Build the, build the locker room and build the culture in the locker room. And everybody comes into that locker room with the max mentality, you know, and it's not one guy here, one guy there. This guy is being partial. This guy is being baby. This guy, you know, gets this, guy gets this treatment. You know, it's everybody's the same.
And this is how we do it. that's what we need. We have too much turnover and we need more consistency. So I agree with you on that 100%.
Val (13:04.005)
that.
Raider Wil (13:07.205)
Yes, sir. Tony B.
Tony Bova (13:11.455)
Man.
Tony Bova (13:15.102)
The way I look at it is...
Not only does he got the experience and the success in all levels, he's going to bring players that are going to want to play for him. Coaches that are going to want to learn under him. He's going to bring talent across the board, not just on the field. I mean, he's going to bring quality guys, not just his guys. Because like a lot of times you see these these coordinators
that are hired, that they bring in their guys and their buddies and they make them feel comfortable. And I don't care if you feel comfortable. I want to win. Bring in some quality coaches that might make you uncomfortable, might make you on the hot seat, make it light a fire on you. Like the comfort has got us.
Nowhere. We've gotten nowhere with the coaching staff and the players and whatnot. So there has to be a, this is how it's done. Let me show you. Like he's gonna be like our Yoda. He's gonna be out there with the wisdom and the one liners and he's gonna be saying the right thing in the press conference. And it's gonna be a success.
God is they healthy too. We stay healthy We're gonna be set higher You know Our coordinating our coordinators that coordinating our coordinators. Well get back ram sign the people we need to sign. Let's get to work
Raider Wil (15:03.601)
Yes sir! Now, finish up sis.
Val (15:09.708)
agree with them.
Raider Wil (15:12.337)
100 % She's like they took the words right out of my mouth.
Matty B (15:12.675)
This is
Val (15:17.26)
I'm gonna go.
Matty B (15:17.657)
BAM!
Tony Bova (15:18.362)
I'm it today yo, let's go.
Raider Wil (15:21.937)
But I be like the... Yeah!
Val (15:22.764)
I know, we missed you boba.
Tony Bova (15:25.16)
I know I'm handling my things, know, but it's been off season seems to be a lot more positive going in the right direction. It gives us hope. And then the season comes and it makes you sad as fuck. For real though, like, and then everything's ready to go. be, I'm fired up. Like today I was like, I don't know how many, how many.
Raider Wil (15:35.088)
Hey.
Raider Wil (15:43.387)
Let's do it.
Tony Bova (15:53.575)
Cause I live up here in, know, Siak area, fandom, whatnot. And the talk is like, hey, you're going to take Gino, you're going to take DK. You're going to, which by the way, might not be so bad. The DK part. Gino can stay his ass in Seattle. He's trash there. He'd be trash here. but bringing in players.
That Nova system is gonna be killer. This offseason is gonna get fired up. I'm ready to go. I'm excited for that schedule to drop.
Get down there to Houston. Show Texas how to get down. Let's go. About to black that bitch out. I'm pumped. I'm ready. every off season, and you know this as Raider fans yourself, every off season we're like, fucking A, let's go, it's our year. And then it's not. But...
Val (16:44.588)
We're gonna party it up.
Raider Wil (16:45.009)
I
Tony Bova (17:04.401)
This year looks a lot.
A lot better. The horizon looks really bright.
Val (17:09.214)
It looks more promising.
Raider Wil (17:11.985)
No, no, absolutely. Hey, you know what? I love what you're talking about there, Tony. The positivity, the energy in the air. I'd be like, you're going to have the people that are being down about this pick. Absolutely. You're like we already said, you know, you got the people that are already, oh, he's too old. But honestly, what I feel like this has brought a little bit of wind into the Raider Nation sales. A lot of people that do have a good understanding of football.
Val (17:36.459)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (17:41.412)
looked at it and said, man, this is a quality pick. Yo, Maddie B. Talk to me about the energy, man. Let me see what you got with when you hurt like again. Yo, what did this do to you? And you said, yo. I'm listening, man, and I know that you were on the text thread and everything, but when you saw Pete Carroll come across.
Tony Bova (18:05.259)
I told you so, I told you so.
Val (18:05.566)
He ordered pizza and had a pizza party.
Raider Wil (18:08.617)
I you so. I told you so.
Tony Bova (18:09.469)
I told you so.
Matty B (18:12.79)
No, I kind of wanted to be like, I kind of wanted to jump on the thread and be like, Hey, I did tell you so, but, no, I didn't. But I was like, I would just wait for everybody else to comment on it. Cause I knew it was coming, man. I was like, I I've been saying it for a minute, man. That's pretty sure since those were the two names that came out that I was saying that I think Pete Carroll would be a great fit. and my boss is, he's a Raider fan too. So.
Val (18:20.818)
Hehehehehe
Raider Wil (18:22.341)
He was sitting there like, told you, I told you.
Matty B (18:43.123)
Like, I mean, I sent him a text this morning as soon as I found out he was all ecstatic too about it. He's like, man, now hopefully we can get a quarterback and we can, we can go the right direction and we can, we can start winning and tired of these down seasons. Cause I mean, he, he's straight. He's from both. Yeah. We'll see. I'm not saying a shit about quarterbacks right now. I want to see what we do with the guys we got. Cause.
Val (18:57.383)
We have a quarterback.
Val (19:01.785)
Nyeh!
Raider Wil (19:09.713)
Yeah, yeah, we're gonna that's a whole episode by itself. Yeah. You know, now.
Tony Bova (19:12.152)
We'll save that for another show.
Matty B (19:12.959)
That's it. Yeah. I like AOC, but I mean, but I seriously like with this pick, I really think that if it came down to it, I really think that if AOC was our quarterback, that Pete Carroll could get the best out of him. Like that's how good of a coach Pete Carroll is in my opinion. Like I think he could get the best out of all of his players.
Val (19:18.035)
laughs
Val (19:30.632)
Listen, I really think that Pete can help develop AOC more and help put so much more growth into him because he's that guy with him. He's a quarterbacks coach, or he was. If there's any hope for full on potential in AOC, Pete's gonna bring it out for show.
Raider Wil (19:31.419)
can't disagree.
Tony Bova (19:49.247)
He's got the
Matty B (19:57.62)
Yeah, 100%. And that's why I liked him as candidate to begin with because like I said, Ben Johnson's a hot commodity man. And like, yeah, you can get the young, go get the young guy and go do this and go do that. But you're never guaranteed with that, man. They said the same thing about Josh McDaniels. You know, he was the next up and coming coach and he was going to do this and he was going to do that. And then he fell in Denver and then he got his second shot.
Who's to say that ain't gonna happen with Ben Johnson? Who's to say that, yeah, okay, yeah, it did happen with McVeigh. Okay, yeah, you could say John McVeigh had a good run, but, you know, Kyle Shanahan maybe, but yeah, McVeigh's the only one that's won a Super Bowl, if you think about it. Like all these other young coaches, yeah, they get into the playoffs and stuff, but they can't go any further than that. So it's the veteran coaches that are constantly winning the Super Bowls, like Kansas City right now, man. So get...
the get the guy that knows what he's doing and those other dudes will come with the coaching staff, in my opinion. Like you'll get those Ben Johnsons and things like that. So when Pete Carroll, if he brings over the right guys, we could possibly have a Ben Johnson in our own coaching staff that we could just pull out when he's gone. And we don't have to go through this whole fucking mess again. We just hire in the house.
Raider Wil (21:20.753)
Absolutely. And guys, that's so you know what? That's going to go to their next segment of our show. All right. Are we talking about it? Yeah. Let's get into it. His staff. We got Pete Carroll. We got John Spytek. Guys, this is where we keep adding and saying, hey, there has to be crucial pieces that have to be added to Pete Carroll's team in order for us to be successful. Let's be honest. I'd be like.
Tony Bova (21:25.425)
you
Tony Bova (21:39.672)
you
Tony Bova (21:45.908)
If.
Raider Wil (21:50.2)
Let me bring up a name and I'm to bring up a defensive coordinator's name. And I know that a lot of people are going to be like, there are several names linked to him. One of them is Gus Bradley, who you know was with us previously, big time cover three guy. But I'm going to bring up another name.
Ken Norton Jr. You guys remember that guy?
Tony Bova (22:18.592)
Is he still coaching?
Raider Wil (22:21.905)
He's not coaching anywhere else. I mean, think about it. You got a guy that just came out of retirement. Let me see where let me see if Ken Norton Junior is actually coaching right now.
Ken Norris
Junior here.
Tony Bova (22:42.951)
That definitely would be a comfort pick for Carroll being that he was on his staff in Seattle.
Raider Wil (22:48.569)
Yep. Washington commanders linebackers coach.
Matty B (22:56.655)
That's weird.
Raider Wil (22:58.418)
Talking about picking a guy that right now their defense is playing extremely well.
Matty B (23:08.239)
Hey, not to mention that when he was coaching for us, we had a pretty decent defense. If I remember correctly, we might.
Raider Wil (23:08.495)
You could
Raider Wil (23:14.223)
Pout. Be like.
He was the linebackers coach for the Oakland Raiders from 2015 through 2017. Then he went to be the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks from 2018 through 2021. Defensive coordinator. Alright. From and then he went to UCLA to be the linebackers coach and now he's the linebackers coach president Lee at Washington. This is why I kind of find this interesting, right? People were like everybody automatically assumes Gus Bradley.
because he's still a coordinator. But why not bring Ken Norton Jr.? I'll be like, I remember when their defense played with him, they were inspiring, they were hungry. They got after.
I mean, like those are the two names that I've really heard linked. don't know of a third right now. I'm trying. I'm working on it. I mean, like I know that we've only been we've only had him since this morning. But guys, what are your thoughts on those two names right now? I'm going to start with. You know what? I'm going to start with Tony B.
Tony Bova (24:26.427)
I don't know who you get Ken Norton if he's with the commanders and they're running he might be happy there.
Raider Wil (24:34.097)
that he's only a linebacker's coach.
Tony Bova (24:38.127)
on a possible Super Bowl team. Like,
I wouldn't hate the pick. I would just hate the fact that it might be too, like I said earlier, that might be his comfort pick. And I believe he can get that out of somebody else that they hired if they do hire. And for what position I coordinated, like,
I wouldn't hate to pick, but I'd be surprised if they do make that move on either of the two.
Matty B (25:33.259)
Please admit upon us, Bova.
Raider Wil (25:34.981)
Yeah, you're freezing up on us, Baba.
Tony Bova (25:38.528)
was done and I just waited and I was waiting for someone to say something and no one said nothing So I'm waiting for you guys to say something I'm like I didn't freeze I just stopped
Matty B (25:47.883)
Anyway, breathe and stop breathing.
Raider Wil (25:51.345)
So, yo, Matty B.
Tony Bova (25:53.015)
I was like, I'm dead.
Raider Wil (25:56.274)
But, Batty B, what's your thoughts on either bringing Gus Bradley or Ken Norton Jr.?
Matty B (26:03.189)
Well, I agree above 100%.
Raider Wil (26:07.883)
Wow. Wow.
Tony Bova (26:10.414)
Smart man, very smart man.
Matty B (26:11.051)
No, man, I think I think Ken Norton jr. Like I said when I'm pretty sure he was He was pretty decent when he was over here. I'm pretty sure when he was with us I can't I can't recall the year, but I know he was with us. I want to say it was
Raider Wil (26:31.441)
2015 through 2017 he was our defensive coordinator.
Matty B (26:34.728)
Yeah. So that would have been what who would, who was our head coaches at that time? Del Rio. Yeah. So, yeah. So, I mean, we had a pretty solid defense when he was there, you know, in our linebacking core, had Khalil Mack and all those guys back there. And I'm pretty sure Khalil Mack won. what was that? Defensive or yeah. Then he won like back to back on both sides, like linebacker and defensive end or something like that, you know, first to do some shit. You know, so mean, yeah, he's a great.
Raider Wil (26:40.271)
Yeah, I believe so.
Raider Wil (26:53.563)
Defensive Player Rookie of the Year.
Matty B (27:04.654)
You know, he can work and he knows what he's doing. Now, like you said, Bova, he's on a championship team, but he's a linebackers coach. So if you give him an offer of a defensive coordinator, that's more money and more control. You know what I mean? So I'm not, I'm not mad if we hire him. Who was the other guy he said? Gus Bradley.
Raider Wil (27:30.577)
Gus Bratt.
Matty B (27:32.763)
That's probably did pretty good. He was over here to the he's a. You know, he's got his his son to be playing for him, too, I guess, you know, like unless we cut him or whatever, but he would be there to his quarterback. But. Now he's he's a decent, he's a decent defensive coach, so I wouldn't I wouldn't be mad about having him back either, so. I thought he pretty decent with us.
Raider Wil (28:00.498)
Got you. last but not least, Lady Val.
Val (28:06.117)
I agree with both of them.
Tony Bova (28:09.986)
Okay.
Val (28:10.971)
But like, for real, I really don't know much about them. I have to do my research, so. But I'll agree with them until I don't agree and then I'll say it on the next pod. But in this moment, I'm going to put my faith in Maddie B and Tony or in Bova. Why did I call you Tony?
Raider Wil (28:17.124)
Okay.
Raider Wil (28:25.445)
I got it.
Tony Bova (28:35.519)
Is that's my first name
Val (28:37.507)
I don't call you Tony though, I always call you Bova.
Tony Bova (28:39.616)
And all right, as long as you don't call me Anthony, we're good.
Raider Wil (28:45.348)
Jesus.
Matty B (28:47.927)
Yeah
Raider Wil (28:49.746)
But, you know, guys, I'm going tell you like this. Every single name on there that we just named are legitimate dudes. Gus Bradley. Well, like, yes, I know a lot of people don't like his strategy of playing a lot of cover three. The guy gets production out of his defense. Ken Norton, Jr. He gets production out of his defense. And I'm going to tell you another name again.
Val (29:07.949)
Alright.
Raider Wil (29:19.259)
I'm at the Patrick Graham might stay. He has interviewed for head coaching jobs, he interviewed all over. Nothing is to say that we will not have the same defensive coordinator. We had the number 15 ranked defense this year.
Tony Bova (29:39.673)
And they were hurt.
Raider Wil (29:41.682)
15th and we're sitting here, you know, but we're sitting here acting like they're bums. When you had guys get injured left and right, we had guys depleted on the roster and you're still the 15th ranked defense.
Val (29:53.135)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (30:03.249)
Dennis Allen is going to Chicago as a defensive coordinator. They say he's a genius. The Saints defense was ranked 27th.
When T7 fed at 32.
Tony Bova (30:18.737)
But wasn't either head coach there
Raider Wil (30:21.179)
He was the head coach and he's a defensive guru. That's what I'm saying, man. I'm like, again, we are not getting a bad deal if we get PG, if we get Ken Norton Jr., if we get Gus Bradley, we are not getting a bad deal. But Raider Nation will make it out to be that every single one of those coaches sucks.
Val (30:25.006)
You know.
Tony Bova (30:33.13)
I'm gonna know.
Raider Wil (30:50.034)
Can we can we be realistic right now, guys? The Raiders job wasn't the sexiest job out there to be realistic. It's probably just as bad as the Jaguars, but the Jaguars actually have a quarterback.
Matty B (31:09.015)
Yeah.
Raider Wil (31:10.267)
We can't sit here and say, hey.
Tony Bova (31:11.963)
Right? He about to be traded.
Raider Wil (31:15.3)
You dicks.
Matty B (31:15.425)
It ain't no better to mince you if you put their stats together.
Raider Wil (31:19.653)
But again, he's They see a future in him. And it might be the coaching. But again, guys. The Raiders job wasn't that sexy. We have the sixth pick.
We don't have the second or third. They can trade sunshine and still get a quarterback.
The Raiders can't. And that's why we need to look at coaches that want to come in and be part of a rebuilding program and believe in Pete Carroll's message.
Raider Wil (32:02.437)
Just stating facts right there, baby.
Val (32:04.54)
and home.
Raider Wil (32:07.323)
But yo, offensively, okay, we're looking at Darryl Bevel, quarterback's coach, Miami Dolphins. This guy coached with Pete Carroll when he won his Super Bowl in Seattle. He's been around the block. He's done a lot of things. Let me give you guys a little info on this guy, Bevel.
Raider Wil (32:34.354)
And that was has been the quarterback's coach since from 2022 till now. He's the passing game coordinator for the Dolphins. He was the quarterback or he was the interim head coach for the Jaguars in 2021. He was the offensive coordinator for the Jaguars in 2021. He was the interim coach for the Lions in 2020. He was the offensive coordinator for the Lions from 2019.
Tony Bova (32:51.718)
Okay.
Raider Wil (33:03.377)
2020. So that means Ben Johnson coached underneath him.
Okay.
Seattle Seahawks from 2011 through 2017, offensive coordinator. Offensive coordinator for the Vikings from 2006 through 2010. Quarterbacks coach for Green Bay Packers 2003, 2005. Assistant quarterbacks coach Green Bay Packers 2000 through 2002. And that beat it goes on and on and on all the way back.
Tony Bova (33:39.241)
Yeah, I gotta hey sorry for interrupting guys I got a port and call I gotta take so I gotta jump off guys
I'm gonna holler at you guys soon though. Yep, yep, yep.
Raider Wil (33:46.417)
All right. Yes, sir.
Val (33:47.625)
Be safe. Peace, and chicken grease.
Matty B (33:48.417)
about that and have a good night.
Raider Wil (33:52.278)
But, you know, so obviously this guy has a ton of coaching experience and he's prepared to take this job. I'll be like, if you look at the resume, the resume speaks for itself. Guys, Tuo Vallonga ever since McDaniels has been there has been revitalized and we can see what's going on here with
him coming over. I can see a quarterback developer, a guy that can help him grow and get better. Maddie B.
Matty B (34:30.046)
Yeah, no. I think if he's got a great resume, honestly, if think about it, know, like, quarterback's coach to, you know, what's he an offensive play caller or the coordinator of?
Raider Wil (34:45.679)
Yeah, he's offensive. He's been a head coach. He's been an offensive coordinator. He's been a quarterbacks coach. He's been a wide receivers coach.
Matty B (34:52.18)
Yeah, so I mean, he's got a great background. And like I said, and we say this all the time, you you don't have to be a great head, you don't have to be a great coordinator to be a great head coach. You know, some people just don't like that. you know, it sounds like he drives pretty good when it comes down to being a coordinator or being a positions coach or something like that. You know, he's got a proven track record. So,
Somebody like that, they can come over, you know, like I said, like if it comes down to like, if AOC was our quarterback, then, you know, we have Carol there, you get that guy over there. Who knows? could have the, what's his, what's his, Sam Darnold? That the dude over there? That the dude over there? No, no, who's the dude over in my, in Minnesota right now?
Raider Wil (35:39.505)
for Miami to a Weilonga.
Raider Wil (35:47.771)
Sam Darnold
Matty B (35:49.329)
Sam Darnold, how he just revived his career, you know what I mean? So I mean, you could have something like that to that effect with people like that, you know what I'm... So, I'm not opposed to it, but I don't really know too, too much about the guy that I could be like, yeah, that's the dude. But in my opinion, I wouldn't mind having him, you know, because that would be a great asset to have to help keep these guys.
Raider Wil (36:09.969)
Yeah.
Matty B (36:20.637)
Dancing I guess I'm have fucking thought for a second
Raider Wil (36:23.37)
I got you.
Val (36:25.905)
Hehehehehe
Raider Wil (36:28.389)
Alright sis, hey what's your thoughts on this guy?
Val (36:33.221)
I don't know anything about him.
Raider Wil (36:34.342)
No, no, no. OK, look, for me, it's this. What this guy has done is proven that he has a track record that he's like you said that he's a better coordinator than he is head coach. But what I want to see is if we bring this guy, is he going to bring offensive innovation? Is he get a guy that can develop quarterbacks? And if you look at him from his record here in his resume, I'd be like.
Val (37:00.57)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (37:03.055)
He's proven that he can develop guys under Pete Carroll. He's also proven that he can get the job done. He has a Super Bowl win as an offensive coordinator. Again, I'm not saying that this is the guy. We are saying that this guy has an extensive resume that can be a potential offensive coordinator for the Raiders underneath Pete Carroll. So I'll be like guys, that's just one name to look out for.
Val (37:17.636)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (37:32.589)
On the next episode, we're going to bring more coaches and more people to that and bring more guys to the table.
Val (37:37.452)
And we don't have to worry about Robert coming over because he signed what with the Niners, right?
Raider Wil (37:43.865)
Yeah, with the 49ers. Yeah, Robert Salah just signed with the 49ers. He's there, DC.
Matty B (37:47.419)
And I just heard too, while I was getting my, uh, I was getting my wife's stuff at the store. Um, did, uh, Brian Schottenheimer is now the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys. So they finally like, I think, I think they were honestly looking at Pete Carroll, honestly, like I think that's who they were looking at. And I don't know. I think it was kind of his.
Val (37:47.744)
as well as defensive coordinator.
Raider Wil (37:59.484)
Coach. Yes, he is.
Raider Wil (38:10.065)
Can I be real with you there? I mean, like that's another situation where the job isn't sexy. The job right there is a tough job. You're coming into a job with an oversell this owner. Jerry Jones is oversell us. And I mean, like he's a victim of his own success. He's living in the 90s. He literally is tearing his team apart.
Val (38:30.509)
You're the Antichrist.
Val (38:38.125)
from the inside out.
Raider Wil (38:38.511)
He doesn't know how to step aside. And the reason that Brian Schottenheimer and I'm meaning not that he's not a good coach. Okay, I'm not going to say that that guy is not a good coach.
But who else would want that job? Like, look, it was the same thing with the Raiders. OK, everybody keeps saying like, we should have got Ben John. Ben Johnson never wanted to be the Raiders head coach. He took the interview because Tom Brady called him and it's called Common Curtis.
Matty B (39:18.329)
I could think about it, if Tom Brady wasn't here, he never answers that phone call.
Raider Wil (39:21.881)
He would have never made the call. He would have never. He literally said the only reason I took it was because Tom Brady. So Raider Nation getting hyped up saying, you know, blah, dude.
No.
He literally did one interview over the internet and said, OK, thank you guys for the opportunity, blah, blah, blah. They can get enamored, whatever. But he never said, hey, I really want to be like, you know, let's get another interview going. You know, let's line something else up. No. So again, for us, it was like, man, for Pete Carroll to come.
Val (39:59.893)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (40:08.729)
As a Super Bowl winning coach, get, I get nobody wants him because of his age. I get that.
Matty B (40:15.191)
I don't care. I don't care.
Val (40:15.903)
But he's got so much benefits, like he's got so much wisdom and skill.
Raider Wil (40:22.597)
Because we.
Matty B (40:22.603)
could tell you right now that Pete Carroll in our division minus Andy Reid probably had the best like overall stats and statistics and a winning percentage out of all the head coaches we have in that division.
Raider Wil (40:30.225)
winning percentage.
Raider Wil (40:38.149)
But he brought the writers legitimacy in the division.
Matty B (40:42.774)
Mm-hmm.
Val (40:43.198)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (40:44.252)
We are in a division of head coaches that are pit bulls. got Sean Payton, Super Bowl winning head coach. You got Andy Reed, three time Super Bowl winner. Four time. No, he lost one.
Matty B (40:56.161)
You won one with Billy.
Matty B (41:02.235)
no, that's yeah, that's right. He lost one with my bad. Sorry, I think.
Raider Wil (41:06.491)
Then you got... It's all good, man. It's all good. Yo. Then you have Harbog, who has won a national championship and has taken a team to the Super Bowl. Yes, he lost, but he still took a team to the Super...
Val (41:08.459)
Thank
Raider Wil (41:26.949)
Now you bring in Pete Carroll, who's won one and lost one and won a national championship. This brings legitimacy to the coaches, right? To the coaches, coaching staff, to the Raiders coaching staff, sorry. And it brings legitimacy to the people up front. I don't care what nobody says. Bringing Liam Cohen does not bring any legitimacy. He's a young coach that hasn't proven anything. Ben Johnson is another young coach.
that has proven that he can only manage one side of the ball. He hasn't managed that he can draft. It doesn't mean that he can do all that other stuff. So Raider Nation, sit down and watch this dude operate.
Matty B (42:10.369)
Yep. Bam. Thanks, dude. I wish you had like a mic drop or something. Grab that one right there.
Val (42:12.861)
Bam.
Raider Wil (42:18.203)
Yo, let's get on to like, let's get on to our sister Val segment for game day. I feel like we're already getting into that time. So sis, do we got a what came we got this week?
Matty B (42:22.795)
you
Val (42:35.315)
Where's my binder?
Raider Wil (42:39.899)
You me to bring those up?
Val (42:40.137)
Yeah, was not prepared. I was not prepared.
Matty B (42:41.747)
no. This is turning into Will's game.
Raider Wil (42:49.776)
Alright.
Matty B (42:49.943)
burning into real corner.
Raider Wil (42:52.549)
Hey, all right, guys.
Val (42:54.566)
You know what? I will be nice. I will be nice.
Raider Wil (42:57.402)
I got.
Yo, so we got game and both of them are on Sunday, by the way. So.
Val (43:07.537)
Can one of you write this down?
Raider Wil (43:10.609)
That's only two games. So I thought you will write it down after. All right, we got Washington commanders versus the Eagles.
Val (43:11.937)
well, still.
Matty B (43:16.757)
We got it right here.
Raider Wil (43:23.921)
Okay. And yo, I'm going to start this one. I'll start this.
Val (43:31.559)
He
Raider Wil (43:36.367)
I'm going to tell you it's going to be a tight game.
Val (43:38.213)
Washington, right?
Raider Wil (43:45.009)
I'm going to tell you the factors that will matter into this game.
the weather and the run game.
Raider Wil (43:56.604)
Jalen Hurts has to throw for over 200 yards, the Eagles will lose. Right? If he throws for under 200 yards, the Eagles will win.
Raider Wil (44:10.169)
I believe that the commanders are in such a hot streak right now.
Raider Wil (44:17.935)
that they're going to come to within one play of going to the Super Bowl and the Philadelphia Eagles and what is it? Gilly Willie? What the thing that he does in his little dance will be dancing his way to the Super Bowl in New Orleans with the Eagles.
Raider Wil (44:45.157)
Maddie B.
Matty B (44:52.444)
you
You know what?
Matty B (44:59.474)
I'm gonna go with fucking...
I'm gonna go with Washington in this game. Go with Washington.
Raider Wil (45:07.985)
All right. You got Washington in this game. I want you to tell me how Washington wins this game. Give me your formula for Washington beating the Eagles.
Matty B (45:13.97)
out watching.
Val (45:17.752)
Bye, Phil Gole.
Matty B (45:17.958)
Washington's gonna come out playing like they did against the Lions I've already told just before the team that can beat the Lions is the Philadelphia Eagles and we just seen We've seen the Eagles flutter this year. Yeah, they got great pieces, but when they're off they're off You know, there's not it's not just a little bit It's the pass games off the run games off quarterbacks off. The whole fucking team is off when they're off. Okay,
They got to play a perfect game this week against a young team that nobody has really any tape on. You know what I mean? So, mean, it's and this Jaden Daniels is playing fucking lights out right now, dude. Like, I know why they didn't get rid of him last year on that pick, because look at this. Like his kids fucking blowing people away right now. It's like in the way he's playing. And I got to give it to the kid, man. Like, I want to see an actual fucking rookie quarterback make it to the Super Bowl.
Raider Wil (46:02.834)
he's beast.
Matty B (46:14.576)
I think that would be some fucking badass fucking stat that nobody could beat for a long time.
Raider Wil (46:20.881)
All right. All right, sis. What's your thoughts?
Val (46:25.42)
So I wanna say the Eagles, but something is telling me Washington.
Raider Wil (46:34.929)
Ooooo
Val (46:37.334)
That's why I earlier I was like, Washington, right? I don't know. It just feels that way. It really feels that way.
Raider Wil (46:43.991)
They're riding a hot streak.
They're playing out of their minds. They're playing really well. But here's the thing. Have you guys ever heard of premature ejaculation?
Matty B (46:56.943)
Hell yeah!
Raider Wil (46:57.681)
You
I think they blew their load already.
Val (47:00.866)
Woo!
Matty B (47:03.517)
no way dude. They're still blowing it right now dude. They're still blowing it dude.
Val (47:03.746)
No.
Raider Wil (47:04.593)
I think they blew their load with Detroit.
Raider Wil (47:15.045)
That's all I got to say. That's all I got to say on that. All right. You know, then we got bills, chiefs, sis. I'll let you start in this
Val (47:19.17)
Thank
Val (47:26.146)
I think those are going to win.
Raider Wil (47:30.582)
Hey, I would do nothing else but build. Matty B.
Val (47:34.274)
Fuck Casey is all I gotta say.
Matty B (47:36.239)
So Val, you had Washington and you had Philly, right, Will?
Matty B (47:44.537)
Yeah, just making sure I had all that right. I don't want to write the wrong names on the wrong. All right. All right. So here we go. This is what I was going to get into. Okay. Washington's going to win this. They're going to go to the Superbowl, right? And then the Buffalo Bills, okay, are going to come in and they're going to pull out a miraculous win against the Kansas City Chiefs. And they're going to go to the Superbowl and they're going to finally get their first Superbowl.
Val (47:50.774)
Washington's gonna win by a field goal.
Raider Wil (47:55.857)
Hmm.
Matty B (48:14.595)
victory against the rookie quarterback where they finished blowing their load.
Val (48:20.288)
You
Val (48:24.369)
You
Raider Wil (48:24.708)
Okay.
success?
Val (48:27.808)
I'm... What?
I'm keeping my comments to myself because I can say so much. I'm being good, I'm being good. I said those, fuck KC. Fuck KC.
Raider Wil (48:37.465)
Yeah, Bell's Chiefs.
Raider Wil (48:43.751)
you said bills already, Yo.
I'ma tell you like this.
Matty B (48:53.015)
I'm
Raider Wil (48:53.061)
Hehe.
Now, I think the Bills are going to come in there and just manhandle the Chiefs. I really think what's going to happen is the Bills defense is going to play really well in order for this to really be a successful game for the Bills. Their defense has to contain Patrick Mahomen, bring incredible amounts of pressure, throwing him, making him uncomfortable.
Val (49:13.738)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (49:25.797)
What I do like about the Bills is that they're able to run the football. And in cold games that suffer like this, man, you gotta have that. And they have the quarterback that has the arm strength to whip it in arrowhead. So I see the Bills pulling off a win. It's not gonna be an easy one. I think this one might even come down to a crazy field goal that like
Val (49:50.333)
Mm-hmm.
Raider Wil (49:54.833)
You know, by B 30, 40 plus, I don't see.
I see the Bills, if the Bills get out in front, see them manhandling, I just don't see the Chiefs being able to like pull this one off. I really feel like they're not the team that they were before. But of course we've said that before.

Well, they got me. Are we going to get fined if we say the refs might have a fucking safe zone in this too or we do?
Raider Wil (50:20.485)
The rest will be like again, that's part of the game, but I'd be like they got to the bills got to put themselves in a position where the refs don't. Like a freaking it doesn't matter what they do.
Matty B (50:33.133)
Yeah, we've seen that Super Bowl with Tom Brady.
Hehehehehe
Raider Wil (50:37.999)
Now we have Tom Brady.
But alright guys, make sure you guys like share, subscribe and comment. You guys also stay tuned as we will be putting out more episodes as we got ladies bow corner. Activated where she's bringing all the fans to you and bringing in Def look at what they do, who they are and what they do. So Val, tell us a little bit about your segment.

Val (51:12.301)
It's about the fan. It's about you, the viewer. You could only support any team. You know, just why you love the team that you do. What makes you a Dior fan? What makes you a Superfan? How'd you get into it? It's all about you, it ain't about me. But it's fun. It's fun fun. And now I just gotta look for my second victim.
Raider Wil (51:41.618)
