Raider Wil (00:01.411)
And welcome back to the Silver and Black Radio Podcast. I'm your host Raider Will and I am here with part of my misfit crew. I got my girl Lady Val representing DFW for life baby.

Val (00:19.891)
you

Raider Wil (00:20.931)
peace signs and all. Then I got my boy, Matty B representing TBH West Co.

Matty B (00:21.54)
Yeah.

Matty B (00:33.678)
What's up fam?

Raider Wil (00:35.491)
What up baby? And I'm your boy Raider Will and I am the captain of this ship. And today man, breaking news, Adam Schefter, I'm gonna run the clip. All right, guys, Adam Schefter releases.

the fact that... Telasco never made the fucking phone call to the commanders to ask about Jaden Daniels. We know that he already got fired. We know he's already not on the books. But guys, I want to get your thoughts on this. How in the world do we let this guy, a once in a lifetime athlete, slide through our fingers without even making the call?

Maddie B, I'm gonna start with you, bro.

Matty B (01:26.954)
Well, first of all, I think it's a fucking stupid idea if he never did. If that's true. I could see maybe the only reason I could see behind why he did it is because I'm pretty sure they denied AP from Jaden Daniels. So maybe that scared him away from even trying to make a phone call. That'd be my only guess of why he never made that phone call. But other than that, like.

Yeah, you should have man like that was once in a lifetime. Look where he's at right now. Look where he's at. Look where he's at right now.

Raider Wil (02:02.421)
Absolutely. Lady Val.

Matty B (02:04.074)
So that's all I gotta say about that, man. I mean, there's really nothing more you can say. That's all. That's it.

Raider Wil (02:09.04)
Yeah, I got you, brother. Lady Val, give me your thoughts,

Val (02:14.756)
Always with somebody named Tom. What's up with the Tom Toms, man?

I got nothing nice to say other than you pansy. Why would you not like call? Like even if, even if they did like say no to AP, why wouldn't you still try?

Raider Wil (02:35.747)
Here's, I 100 % agree with you that.

Val (02:37.936)
Now I'm like, okay. I'm like, no, it's okay that you're, know, bye. See you later.

Raider Wil (02:47.978)
Hey, you guys know I'm here. First of all, I'm gonna put it like this. Tom Telesco, this is the reason you are at home on the couch, just like us. Bro, you didn't wanna give the extra year contract to Kingsborough. You didn't wanna sign JJ. You didn't want to make a phone call.

Val (02:58.226)
back.

haha

Raider Wil (03:13.663)
I'll be like pick up the damn phone. All you got to do is pick it up and be like, Hey commanders, I know you rejected all these people, but I want to know if you're interested in making a deal. That's all it took. And this man literally could not take two seconds out of his day to draft the most electric quarterback in the draft. Time to let's go. Shame on you.

That's why you're sitting on the couch, you pansy. You got, you got, you didn't make any moves. I'd be like, guys.

Val (03:42.896)
Shame. Shame.

Matty B (03:46.953)
You should play that you should play that clip from Game of Thrones where they're like shame shame

Val (03:53.692)
Shame! Shame!

Raider Wil (03:53.924)
I'm serious guys like you're right. This is so Beyond pathetic that you know a GM in the league You don't even pick up to make the phone call, you know that AP like this guy Everybody on the face of the planet was talking about how this kid was so electric can become a big-time playmate

Val (04:23.302)
He wanted to do his own thing. He was like, I'm running this show. And he did not. He ran the show into the ground is what you did, Mr. Tommy boy.

Raider Wil (04:23.477)
and you don't even pick up the phone?

Raider Wil (04:34.915)
You know what, at the end of the day, people are gonna say, yes, he had a great draft, but this could have been a better draft. It could have brought key players like Jaden Daniels to the race, but you couldn't pick up the phone.

Matty B (04:49.093)
We'll think about this though.

The dude has never traded up in a draft to get a gun. He has always stayed still. He's never put in more than a couple, just to bump up maybe a spot or two, but he's never from 12th to number one or number five or anything like that. He never makes that big move. No, I'm not saying anything. That's an excuse. I'm just saying.

Val (04:52.62)
Ever?

Val (05:08.901)
So he doesn't have.

Raider Wil (05:10.115)
I get what you're saying, and I get that. But I mean, I could not even pick up the phone.

Matty B (05:15.558)
We as Raider Nation should have seen that coming when we hired the dude, you know, like we don't make that jump, dude. He never has and I didn't. don't think he ever had the cojones to ever make a fucking trade like that, in my opinion.

Raider Wil (05:27.779)
You might be right, but here's my thing again. I'll be like, this is why I'm like we keep struggling and we keep having issues. Man, are you kidding me that you couldn't pick up the phone? That you didn't say, hey man, it's my responsibility to look at and say, hey, what is the best player I can get for this team? What is my most position of need? And what do I have to do to make that move? But for you to not even pick up the phone, that is pathetic.

Tom Tolesco and that's where you're at where you're at and we just get rid of trash. So let's just get into the next part of the show. hey, let us know. We got some coaches that we're calling. We've got some GMs that we're turning every stone. So Val, let us know who we're gonna start with and where we're going.

Val (06:17.227)
Okay, so we're going to start with, let's try and get this here. We're going to start with Advanced Joseph.

Raider Wil (06:29.773)
Defense of coordinator

Val (06:31.576)
Defensive coordinator. So let's see. College Colorado. All right. So his experience is 20 years. So Vance Joseph, he enters his fourth season with the Denver Broncos in 2024 after being named defensive coordinator February 25th, 2023.

Raider Wil (06:43.937)
Yes, 20 years experience.

Val (07:01.175)
This marks the second stint with the Broncos. He previous, after previously serving as the team's head coach for two seasons. He's got 25 years of coaching experience at the professional and college levels. And he was a defensive coordinator for Arizona from 2019 to 22. Other NFL stops are Miami, Cincinnati, Houston, and San Francisco.

the missy here. Whoa.

So yeah, interesting. That is that.

Raider Wil (07:42.912)
Okay, so we got Vance Joseph. Guys, we've already seen what Vance Joseph does. He's been with the Broncos. He goes and he had that team and he didn't have much success. Now, Maddie B, what are your thoughts on Vance Joseph becoming... whoa, whoa,

Val (07:49.548)
there's more.

Val (08:01.078)
Hold on. I didn't even realize there was more. should have kept scrolling. So let me see. So under him, quarterback, pot, certain two. Am I saying that right? Yeah, it's safety Justin Simmons. Okay, so they were voted to their second career pro-Bowles while Simmons was also named the Sega team pro-for-the-fourth time in his career.

Raider Wil (08:18.595)
Pector 10. Pector 10.

Val (08:34.962)
Wow, so yeah, he's got it seems like he has some good success here. It says defensive end JJ what who played his final NFL season under Joseph in 2022 posted double digit sacks for the first time since 2018. And they tied fourth among all players. What do think maybe?

Matty B (08:58.464)
Some people are meant to be coordinators and some people are meant to be head coaches and he is meant to be a coordinator Everything he has success in right now tells you that that's because he was the coordinator or he ran the defensive side of the ball, so If I bring him over I'm giving him a defensive coordinator position. I'm not giving him a head coaching position. So

I've already seen him as a head coach. He's no different than if we if we brought him over, it'd be like bringing McDaniels over again.

Val (09:26.74)
Fair enough.

Val (09:33.763)
no. no. No!

Raider Wil (09:35.351)
Ha ha ha ha!

Matty B (09:37.502)
and

Val (09:39.176)
My food almost came up. No, thank you.

Raider Wil (09:43.204)
Yo, Matty B, you hit the nail on the head, man. You know what? There's some guys that are meant to be coordinators and there's some guys that are meant to be head coaches. Vance Joseph excels at being a defensive coordinator. He excels at making teams better on one side of the ball. But as a play caller and as a head coach, he struggled. I mean, like when you look at him with the Broncos, that team got worse with him as a head coach.

Val (09:44.093)
Breathe.

Raider Wil (10:12.087)
We don't need a guy that's going to come here and make us better defensively. Now what I could see is the Rooney rule being used here. You know, he is a minority coach. Two, they are turning every stone. Maybe they are getting defensive ideas. You know, trying to see what, pick his brain and see what he's thinking. But we all know that at the end of the day, Ben's Joseph.

is not a good fit to become the Raiders next head coach. Just me two cents.

What do we got though?

Val (10:53.956)
Okay, so now on to the next, we've got Sheldon White.

Val (11:03.612)
So he, I'm scrolling, sorry.

Matty B (11:08.184)
He's for a general manager, correct? Or for head coach?

Raider Wil (11:09.219)
Yep, he's the he's assistant general manager to the Steelers.

Matty B (11:13.915)
Yeah. Yeah, was gonna say he's pretty stupid.

Val (11:15.791)
Yeah.

Yeah, so.

Val (11:23.932)
He.

Val (11:29.785)
Okay, so he's the director of Pro Scouting.

Raider Wil (11:33.72)
okay.

Val (11:36.849)
So it says he's the Pittsburgh Steelers director of pro scouting and

Val (11:45.579)
It doesn't say more than that. just kind of says what detail, like his job details on here. Maybe I just need to go up. wait, no.

What the H-E-T-U-S-T-A-K-E-F. And Tommy Mutch. So he is an American football executive, former player who's the director for pro scouting.

He played college football at Miami, Ohio. He was drafted by the Giants in the third round, played for the Lions and Bengals. And then he became a scout.

Raider Wil (12:32.547)
So, can you tell us a little bit, him as an executive? So I can fill you in a little bit.

Val (12:32.792)
And then, yeah, he...

Val (12:39.139)
That's, yeah. Yeah, go ahead.

Raider Wil (12:42.212)
Okay, as an executive for the Detroit Lions from 97 through 99, he was a scout. Then from 2000 to 2008, he was director of pro personnel for the Lions. Then he went to vice president of pro personnel from 2009 through 2015, the Detroit Lions 2015 interim general manager, then Michigan State.

Val (12:53.221)
I see.

Raider Wil (13:07.907)
executive director of player personnel and recruiting from 2016 through 2020. Then he went to Washington football and he was a scout in 2021. And now he is the director of pro scouting for the Steelers. So guys, this guy has been in the league for a while. You know, we can see that he does have some experience, but as a general manager. Okay.

I see this again that we are turning every stone looking for young talent. I feel like the Steelers do have an excellent front office. They have drafted very well for years. But I don't feel like this guy is going to be a front runner or a top 5 guy as a GM. I feel like this was another interview that they did for the Rooney Roll.

But I mean like when you're talking about trying to pick young talent away from other teams, this might be an interesting move to take another guy from the AF suit and put him on your squad.

Daddy B.

Matty B (14:22.138)
Oh, I mean, I kind of feel you're coming out with the roomy rule on this one, kind of just kind of filling him out a little bit. He's got the experience, but you also got to look at you got to look at Pittsburgh to man. Pittsburgh's got a lot of pieces in place, and that's why they draft good. It's not one guy that comes in there and makes it that way. They've they draft good. They coach good.

Their front office is good. Everything's organized. They, mean, damn, we've had three coaches in 60 years, man. Come on now. If that don't tell you that they got a great front office and people work well together there, he probably a really good fit in Pittsburgh, but we got a lot of holes in a lot of things that are fucking just not going our way right now. So we need to get, I think someone with a little bit more experience, a little bit more.

juice I would say at that position and that in that position on the office just because we got it we got to start hitting big man we can't do this little here and there or some crazy ass pick in the third round or that should have been a third round pick you know and we got we got to get someone in this got some brains

Raider Wil (15:41.453)
Absolutely man enough.

Matty B (15:42.498)
Who I don't, you know, who, sorry, I don't mean to like cut you off, but what's up with the champ, Kelly? Is he gone or is?

Raider Wil (15:51.588)
We talked about him last episode. Yeah, he's one of the guys that's already in the house. They have him, but they haven't interviewed him.

Matty B (16:01.913)
For some reason, I feel like I don't remember that conversation, but...

Raider Wil (16:04.547)
It's all good. It's all good, brother.

Matty B (16:09.441)
I was thinking that today, I'm like, man, what happened to Champ Kelly, man? Like, why can't we talk about that dude?

Val (16:12.651)
It's only been a week. It's only been a week, Matty B. Come on.

Raider Wil (16:16.407)
Yeah, that's all we need. Hey. Alright sis, well, you know what? I think like that. You know, it's like Sheldon. This guy is gonna come in. He's inexperienced. He would need a peek count. He can't bring in Ben Johnson with this guy. I don't think Ben... This is Ben Johnson's pick. But again, until Ben Johnson signs and he puts ink to paper, we have to turn every stone and try to find...

Matty B (16:17.504)
man.

Raider Wil (16:46.528)
a guy that's going to be suitable that's going to be able to take over this plot no matter what. So I'll be like returning the stone and we don't know whether we're looking at this guy to be the GM or to possibly take another position because again if it's an elevated position he might be another piece to the board. We don't know but sis who do we got next?

Val (17:14.057)
Um, so we have Brandon Brown next.

Raider Wil (17:22.467)
Brandon Brown.

Val (17:25.043)
There's an ad that popped up.

Raider Wil (17:26.755)
Oh, GM to the Giants.

Val (17:32.647)
Yes, so he

Val (17:38.985)
so he has been a part of front offices since 2016, NFL front offices, starting as a scout within the Colts. Am I reading the right person?

bread, okay, yeah. Wait. snap, I got mixed up. Hold on.

Val (18:03.643)
yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. So I am reading the right person. So.

Matty B (18:10.068)
It's only been 15 minutes, Val.

Val (18:12.424)
Whatever. So it says that he was with the Eagles from 2017 to 21, including since director of pro scouting and pro personnel before joining New York's front office. He won a Superbowl with the Eagles. was a, he hasn't gotten any other interview requests as a GM.

And that doesn't give me much more.

Raider Wil (18:42.519)
No, he's young. He's really young. I mean, like...

Val (18:46.423)
Yeah, I see that here. He is... No, not Browner. my goodness, this thing is killing me.

Val (18:57.627)
Go ahead, he's...

Raider Wil (18:59.684)
He's young. mean, so in 2012, Brown was the pro personnel intern for the Jets. Then he joined the Colts in 2013, or he spent two years at Boston College. First as a recruiting specialist in 2013, and then as assistant director of player personnel in 2014. And then he was with the Eagles.

with the Colts in 2015 and 2016. Then he joined the Eagles in 2017 all the way through 2019. And literally he's just that he's really young. mean, like he has, he doesn't even have 10 years in the league.

Val (19:42.405)
So maybe this could be a guy that could, you know.

Raider Wil (19:42.806)
So.

Val (19:47.941)
puts what Alan has been saying, somebody young to keep.

Raider Wil (19:48.065)
Yeah, I do. Go ahead.

Raider Wil (19:55.908)
A young lion. Did you see this?

Matty B (19:56.814)
Yeah, but see general manager general manager is that's a whole different game. That's not like That's not like a head coach or anything like that. Those dudes

Val (20:00.913)
I don't know. he could, he, listen, he could have more knowledge in just that short span than these other guys. It just really depends on how they soak it up and how they're retaining that. I mean, is he serious about,

Raider Wil (20:02.339)
But at the same time, let's go.

Raider Wil (20:09.016)
You good?

Matty B (20:14.062)
Dep...

Raider Wil (20:15.555)
No, no, you're right. You know what about you're right, but here's my thing Okay, if we're bringing in a rookie head coach and you're bringing in a rookie GM with this little experience I Don't believe that's gonna be a formula for success I'll be like you got to look at it and say hey one person strengths got to be the other ones weaknesses and vice versa Right. So if you're talking about experience and you're talking about said, hey

This is the move we have to make. I don't see this guy coming in and convincing players and saying, Hey man, you know what? I have a winning record. have a, you know, yeah, he won one with the Eagles, but he wasn't a gym. He wasn't a guy in a high position to be like, yo, I got this team in this ring. I brought this team together. I was an architect behind this. You don't have that.

And when you have a young coach, I believe you have to have somebody with that type of weight. That's why Spy Tech is the front run right now. That and his relationship with Brady. But we'll get into that in a different episode. So that's just my thing. I don't believe that we can have two guys that are inexperienced at the wheel because it can be really, really good or it can be really, really bad.

Raider Wil (21:41.389)
Who do we got next?

Val (21:41.579)
I suppose so. Sorry, I didn't eat today, so.

Matty B (21:44.845)
I have one for you when you guys are done with your little, with all your guys you're going through. I have one for you guys.

Val (21:51.061)
Okay, Maddie B.

Raider Wil (21:54.05)
Just make sure we haven't gone through them yet.

Matty B (21:55.849)
Yeah, yeah, I know. just that's why I said get to you guys's first and then I'll go through it if you guys haven't talked about it.

Val (22:01.474)
So the next person is Lance Newmark. Newmark, how do you say his last name? Newmark. So yes, for the Redskins. So he enters his first season as assistant general manager of the Washington Redskins. He joined them with 28 years of NFL experience, including 26 seasons with the Detroit Lions.

Raider Wil (22:06.691)
He's Assistant General Manager to the Commanders.

Val (22:31.318)
He most recently held the role of Senior Director of Player Personnel for Detroit and helped oversee both the College of Pro Scouting Operations. He's also assisted with the weekly management of the Lions roster and assisted Lions Executive Vice President and General Manager Brad Holmes with the implementation of Home Scouting Vision. Previously, it's all day-to-day operations. He was Senior Director of Player Personnel in 22.

He got a start in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers. He spent two seasons as a staff assistant.

And then he worked under general manager of Bobby. I can't say his last name. The B-B-Bethard, who's a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Washington of Fame. And.

Raider Wil (23:23.053)
later.

Raider Wil (23:30.596)
So this guy sounds really interesting. I'm telling you like, with Tim saying 20 plus years with the Lions, he has longevity at one place and you know that he was part of this crew that has built the Lions up. And then he not only that, he was part of the crew that drafted for the commanders this year. The Redskins went to the playoffs. They went for...

Val (23:31.199)
That's pretty much it.

Matty B (23:34.758)
Mm-hmm.

Val (23:35.145)
He looks interesting.

Raider Wil (23:58.248)
downhill team to an uptrending team by making the right moves hiring the right people and putting them in the right spots. I can I really like this as much as I don't know about this guy I'm gonna really have to do some research into this guy but I don't know whether if he was a heavy heavy hitter when it came to the Lions drafting the guys that they have right now but if he was and he's an influential guy like that

I can really see that team up of him with Ben Johnson. A guy with a lot of experience, a guy that now has not that he has Super Bowl experience, but that he has experience in the league and it's people build good teams. Go ahead.

Val (24:44.616)
So it also said he recently held the role of Senior Director of Player Personnel for Detroit and helped oversee both the college and pro scouting operations.

Matty B (24:56.413)
Mm.

Raider Wil (24:58.087)
So I'd be like, he has experience. And I mean, like again, this is what we're looking for in a combination with Ben Johnson. Now, if Pete Carroll comes in, I don't know if that even matters.

Val (25:12.744)
Yeah, I'm just reading more. just says he served as the liaison between the departments and the Alliance player personal function. He played influential roles in both the Alliance NFL draft and NFL free agency period processes.

Matty B (25:28.803)
So you gotta think man, this guy's been doing this for a long time with the Lions like Will said, know, he's been doing it for 20 plus years. That dude's been a part of a lot of good drafts for the Lions, man. That dude's Calvin Johnson, that dude's drafted, Damocan Su. He's drafted great players, man. Like they, they get good players. So that's telling you something. And I, it sounds like he's got a lot of pool in the college area too. So he's well known in that area. So.

Raider Wil (25:29.112)
Ha!

Val (25:57.957)
He played wide receiver for a couple of years.

Matty B (25:59.099)
that right there in itself, like being well known in a college and like knowing coaches and knowing players and stuff like that is a real plus when it comes to a DM, in my opinion anyways, I think.

Raider Wil (26:14.807)
But I think what you just said, man, with his experience at the college level and his experience just drafting and being in those situations, that makes a big difference. You don't have a guy like that. mean, like, again, we're good. Man, right now, Ben Johnson and Pete Carroll, they're two front runners. Right, let's just be real when it comes to the coaching thing.

Val (26:26.525)
No, no.

Raider Wil (26:42.404)
Those are the two guys everybody's looking at. Right now I really couldn't envision the team going any other way. Unless some crazy dark horse comes out of like the nowhere. You know? And when you're looking... He is. That's what I'm saying. Man.

Val (26:56.924)
I don't know, this guy seems really interesting though. Like he, I wouldn't be mad about this guy.

Raider Wil (27:05.027)
Wouldn't be either. I mean like when it comes to a GM. I would not be bad. We've talked about a lot of them I mean like we're I think we're like 10 deep already at GM You know and we really need to figure that out, but yeah, I like it. Let's do some more research on this guy We're gonna do a pot on this guy. We're gonna break this guy down and we're gonna figure out who he is so

Val (27:23.195)
Yeah.

Val (27:28.357)
Find out where he lives. I'm just kidding. Not that deep, not that deep. Child Alexander.

Matty B (27:34.083)
Yeah.

Raider Wil (27:35.007)
All right, so who's the next?

Raider Wil (27:40.429)
Chad Alexander, Assistant GM to the Chargers.

Val (27:46.194)
Yes. So let me see. So Alexander has 25 seasons of NFL experience. He joined the Bolts. Okay. That sounds stupid. He joined the Chargers after spending the past five seasons with the Jets as their director of player personnel. He's worked closely with both GM and manager Joe Douglas.

and assistant general manager Rex Hogan helped the judge recently hit on a strong draft classes. He played a key role in the New York drafting both the 2022 offensive and defensive rookie of the year in Garrett Wilson and saw Gardner respectively. He spent 20 seasons with the Ravens.

And that's a long time. He spent the final nine seasons as Baltimore's assistant director of pro personnel. He was their director of player personnel for the past five seasons. And he also played football in college.

Raider Wil (29:03.969)
You know what?

The resume that you just told me sis Man, I cannot hate on that resume. The dude can absolutely Be a part of a draft team. I don't know if he was making those calls But I'm gonna give you guys a little something something here. You guys just said these guys are all Either you know vice president of player personnel

Matty B (29:13.759)
Mm-mm.

Val (29:26.403)
his

Raider Wil (29:34.916)
Pro personnel and there's two guys that are assistant GMs Could you guys see us? interviewing certain guys to be assistant GMs as in Sheldon White he's the director of pro football personnel The next spot for him would be assistant GM then building again with VP of player personnel

John Eric Sullivan and you can elevate him to director of personnel. Do you see what I'm saying? Do you guys see how the pieces are falling in? Could you guys see them building the staff like that? And that's why they're doing so many interviews that they're actually going to build the staff. And then all these assistant GMs, they're the ones that are really interviewing for the GMs.

Val (30:29.387)
Yeah. So here's another.

Matty B (30:30.964)
They could, but I mean right now if you're thinking about it, man, we already have a guy like that area and Champ Kelly. You know what I mean? Like, he would be, he's an assistant right now, isn't he?

Raider Wil (30:38.901)
you know if they're happy with champ kelly yeah he's the assistant GM but you can have multiple

Matty B (30:44.103)
Yes, I mean you can have multiple you can't it's not just a one position okay. So that's where I was thinking. I thought it was like a one position thing. You had one guy doing this and

Raider Wil (30:55.197)
I don't believe so. mean like you're just an assistant.

Matty B (30:56.862)
and had guys under him or some shit. thought I didn't know how that works. I don't know how the DM and assistance and scouting and all that shit works.

Raider Wil (31:05.089)
But this Alexander guy man, I mean like from what sis said, then his resume speaks volumes with both with the Jets.

Val (31:12.342)
Yeah, so just to add on just to add on to him it just says he was undoubtedly shaped by his father Hubbard. Hubbard who was a success. Yeah Hubbard. I can't say it whatever. Hey, it says he was his dad was a successful coach at both the college and NFL levels. So his father had won a pair of national titles with the Miami Hurricanes before joining the Dallas Cowboys.

Matty B (31:24.349)
Hubbard.

Val (31:42.494)
where he won three Super Bowl rings in a four-year span.

Raider Wil (31:47.405)
So I mean like, hey...

Val (31:48.243)
So like he's had, he has like before his father passed away, he's able to see and learn from that perspective too, I would assume, know, obviously looking at his, his, you know, his experience, I mean.

Raider Wil (32:02.251)
No, no sis, you're right. You know what? This is like the Kubex. Coaches kids, that they get raised in this stuff, they're really, they're able to pick it up, they excel. I'll be like, you are just like, you learn from it. You can't replace that. Yeah. You can't replace first hand experience.

Matty B (32:20.125)
We were just talking about this the other day. Yeah, it's like we were talking about Kyle Shanahan. You know what I mean? So it's like Kyle Shanahan is perfect example of that, know, him and his dad, you know, and he just, he was never a player. mean, if he was, it wasn't like nothing real spectacular, but he grew up in a coaching family and look at him now,

Raider Wil (32:31.448)
Yeah.

Raider Wil (32:45.475)
Absolutely. All right sis, who do you got next?

Val (32:49.104)
That's all the names I have. All right, Matty B. What's the name?

Raider Wil (32:51.625)
that's it. do do do.

Matty B (32:54.019)
So we've got a couple of interviews that have been going on, right? So imagine this, if we want somebody young right into the head coach position that can stay with the team for a while and build consistency and contingency, right? We bring in Ben Johnson, right? So what if,

We brought in Pete Carroll for general manager and Ben Johnson as a head coach.

Could you see something like that working out? I mean, you think about, they've been talking high about like this meeting that they did with Pete Carroll, right? Maybe he's old, know, people are saying he's old, right? He's 73 years old. So you don't put him out on the field, but you put him up in the booth and where, you know, he can make his calls to the college because he's well known in college. He knows a lot of people in college. He's won national championships in college. He knows how to get the players. He knows how to build a consistent contender.

That that's all you would have to do with Pete Carroll is just have him sit in the office and make the calls and Tom Brady Think about a 73 years old Tom Brady's young he could take all this knowledge in from Pete Carroll and Run with it if Pete Carroll ever decided to step down now. He's got it now You got a successor for fucking 40 years, man fucking Just just just the thought I don't know if that's something like too bizarre, but

I just, that's just something I'm seeing. Like I think it'd be kind of cool.

Raider Wil (34:32.803)
So... Now? Thoughts? I'll go...

Val (34:37.7)
I mean, I like, you know, I kind of like that thought process, Maddie, being at the USM going on there, whatever it is that's helping you think, share. But like.

Matty B (34:53.412)
Yeah

Val (34:54.51)
You know, I'm not against what you're saying. It actually makes sense when you put it that way. You know what I mean? Like, okay.

Matty B (35:02.541)
And see the thing is it like you look at you look at Pete Carroll and he's not a guy that's like all about himself either. You know, he's a dude that everybody can just become a sponge off of man. Like everybody can learn shit from Pete Carroll. He's not a guy that's going to be like he holding an ego way up here being like, I'm the best of the best. And if you want me, you're to have to do this, this and this, you know. I just I think it would be a great opportunity for that to happen in our in our in our front office.

Val (35:14.734)
Yeah.

Raider Wil (35:25.599)
I mean like talking about an absolute like shocker I think people right there would it be like Pete Carroll taking the position of GM would I don't see it happening because I don't see him as a guy that wants to be a GM he wants to continue to coach and you know show that he still gots it

Matty B (35:53.143)
But he could also help out with Ben Johnson, you know what I mean? So it's not like he's.

Raider Wil (35:53.782)
But if you're able to hold on, hold on. I get what you're saying, but it's different. You know that it's different. You, but you have that itch to coach and you want to coach. It's different than you being a GM and sitting in the front office and like watching your guys. You want to be on the field. You want to be the guy telling the guy, man, no, you took the wrong step. You didn't do this correctly. Hey.

Val (35:58.595)
But.

Matty B (36:00.196)
Ha ha ha.

Raider Wil (36:21.379)
You know that three step, make sure that first step's deeper. You know, and it's gotta be quicker, good pop, good release. All those things, that's embedded into you, man. As a coach, you go out there and it's automatic on any field that you touch, you get in coach mode. And that's where is Pete Carroll gonna be able to take a back seat and say, hey man, you got this. I'm gonna go sit in the office.

and get you guys. That's where I see like the difficulty difficulty coming in. But I'll tell you what, if Tom Brady can convince Pete Carroll to sit in the front office and groom his head coach and groom him at the same time to take over positions like that.

I could see that being a Kumbaya situation or I can also see that turning into absolute chaos with three fucking chiefs and not enough Indians. But yeah, but I mean like that could be really, really cool, man. I mean like, man, that would be dope. That would be dope. All right, so.

Matty B (37:34.272)
That's been said a lot.

Val (37:44.685)
I think it's gonna be very interesting to make one piece to start falling in. It's gonna be a very interesting season. The draft, think we're gonna have a decent draft this year. an actual, like last year, you know, whatever. But I think this year it's just gonna be change. It's gonna be different. I just, it's,

Raider Wil (38:08.323)
I think that the energy is going to be a lot more engaging, but because we, it depends. Right now we have, you know, this kumbaya situation where people are going like the bears don't have a chance to get Ben Johnson because Tom Brady has come in there and wooed Cinderella and made her feel like she's the best thing since sliced bread.

But we're, have you guys seen the show House of Cards?

Val (38:41.544)
Mm-mm.

Matty B (38:42.921)
bits and pieces of it.

Raider Wil (38:44.897)
It's kind of like that. have a house of cards right now. What happens if Ben Johnson decides not to become head coach of the writer?

Raider Wil (38:59.234)
then everybody freaks out and automatic pry Pete Carroll, right? And that's where I'm like, man, to have both those guys in house at the same time?

That would be crazy. That right there would be insane to go from having neither guy to having a Super Bowl winning head coach with the national championship head coach with Tom Brady being there with all the staff that Pete Carroll would have as GM and the most young innovative mind in professional football.

Matty B (39:40.917)
about bringing back glory to the fucking Raiders, right? Telling you, bro, like, I think that's I just did. think that's I think it's great, bro. Like, I honestly think it's awesome. I love the idea. If that happens, I mean, the whole NFL is put on notice right there, in my opinion, like.

Raider Wil (39:45.589)
Woo! I'll be like...

Raider Wil (39:52.867)
That's electrifying. mean like that's as good as spy tech.

Raider Wil (40:00.813)
Well, I think the NFL will get put on notice because it's gonna go like this. It's gonna be a high-name GM that we get. It's either gonna be, you know, you got Ed Dobbs, a guy that's you know, here forever. You got Tamp Kelly, like you said. You can bring Dimitriov, the guy that was with the Falcons forever. You can bring...

Matty B (40:26.066)
Mm-hmm.

Raider Wil (40:29.251)
A big name had, or you know, Ben Johnson, Baring Glen, that's another hot name. You can bring Pete Carroll. You can bring, I'd be like, we all said no to Dion. The writers have said no to Dion. Thank God. No to Dion. But, but again, I mean, like he's come out and like, it just shows the interest.

Val (40:44.52)
Matty B (40:45.715)
pretty sure the Cowboys even said no to Deon. I'm pretty sure he just came out and said he don't want anything to do with the Deon situation.

Val (40:51.474)
Mm-mm.

Raider Wil (40:58.57)
in becoming the Raiders head coach now and honestly with the atrocious atrocious last couple seasons man that gives us hope but we also had hope last year so let's hope that we make a lot of the right decisions and put the guys in the right places so that way our hope doesn't pitter patter out like it did this year but all right sis let's get on to you vows

Not Bella's Corner anymore. I guess this is Bella's segment now.

Val (41:34.715)
What do you mean is that valve's corner and

Raider Wil (41:38.507)
because you got a whole show for that now.

Matty B (41:41.475)
Yeah, and a whole room. Not just a corner anymore.

Raider Wil (41:43.843)
Yeah, exactly.

Val (41:46.116)
got the horror root, come on, come on with it. Okay, so to be honest, I do not have, I don't have it updated, but I do know that for the wild card round, Alan, Genny, and myself were four two for the week.

Raider Wil (42:01.215)
Updated.

Val (42:12.774)
Well, you went down to 2-4, so I mean...

Raider Wil (42:16.503)
Trash! Trash! I was trash in the playoffs!

Matty B (42:19.823)
I broke even.

Val (42:23.414)
Yeah, you did. You were three, three and Bovo was five, one. So I'm pretty sure if you guys were like same, like one, like you in first place and Alan in second, I'm pretty sure you guys are even now. Like, I don't know, like I'm going to count, like do the math and then I will let y'all know.

Raider Wil (42:23.671)
My gosh, basura!

Matty B (42:26.017)
Yeah.

Matty B (42:45.039)
Well, they were it was like it was like three games wasn't it? It was like two or three games. Yeah, so you guys even hey, I'm just saying math is I'm just math and

Raider Wil (42:48.085)
Yeah, was like two or three games that we had a different.

Val (42:51.525)
So, Matty B is trying to math over here, Will goes ahead by two games, so, yes.

Raider Wil (43:03.755)
At the end of the regular season, yeah. So I think he's up too. I think Alvin's up too.

Matty B (43:05.807)
So he would probably be a 5-1

Val (43:11.344)
I think he is, but we're not gonna tell him that yet. We're just gonna, I told him, I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna.

Raider Wil (43:15.603)
That was torture.

Matty B (43:15.994)
Let him find out. Hey, put it on a little meeting segment.

Val (43:22.149)
Because he asked me and I was like, yeah, you guys are still the same. And so he's like, really? I would have thought like, I think he says him that his record was trash. So he's like still losing. I was like, you know, no, you guys are the same because where he won, you lost. And then where you lost, he won. Like it's evened out. So he thinks that it's still the same.

Raider Wil (43:29.923)
Hahaha!

Raider Wil (43:50.019)
Well, he'll figure it out. Yo, so what games have we got this week sis?

Val (44:03.115)
Sorry, just like space ride here. Okay, so I gotta get in the- no I don't. So for the games here, I pulled it up on the computer so I could see it.

Val (44:18.072)
Oops, went too far down, went too far down. Okay, January 18th. When's the 18th? Saturday. Okay, so Saturday we have Texans and the Chiefs.

Matty B (44:23.993)
This

Raider Wil (44:34.851)
I got the...

Val (44:35.054)
Texans at Chiefs, right?

Raider Wil (44:38.765)
Yep, I got the cheers.

Val (44:43.896)
May be who you got.

Matty B (44:46.639)
I gotta go with Kansas City in this game. I hope Houston wins, but I Kansas City got it.

Val (44:54.627)
Hold on, gotta... Man, I am like behind right here. So Alan A, G, W, V, M, and B. Okay, so Will had, who did you have?

Matty B (45:14.272)
Yeah, cheap.

Raider Wil (45:14.735)
I have the twos.

Val (45:18.912)
and Maddie B had.

Matty B (45:21.132)
chiefs.

Val (45:24.638)
I'm going to root for Houston because.

Raider Wil (45:33.123)
Because why not?

Val (45:36.642)
Anybody but the cheese. Anybody but the cheese.

Matty B (45:42.1)
Yeah, I agree, but... And I feel like I'll let that happen.

Val (45:44.098)
Raider Wil (45:46.903)
Yep.

Val (45:48.214)
Well, you never know. This has been a crazy year, okay? I know y'all saw that doink of a wind that the Redskins got, okay? It's crazy, you never know what can happen.

Matty B (45:50.197)
Man.

Raider Wil (46:02.563)
100 %

Val (46:04.396)
So next game we got on Saturday is the Redskins at Detroit.

Raider Wil (46:10.979)
Detroit Detroit Detroit

Matty B (46:15.914)
Yeah, give me Detroit.

Val (46:20.802)
I'm gonna go for the redskins, cause, you know. I mean, I'm already in last place. It can't get any worse than that. Take my money already.

Raider Wil (46:25.539)
Why not?

Matty B (46:34.674)
Hey, hey, Val, you came out for two last week, so.

Val (46:39.362)
no no no, that ain't nothing, okay? I'm not getting a penny of that pot, so don't even.

Raider Wil (46:45.555)
Hahaha

Matty B (46:46.153)
I'm just saying, you came out 4-2 last week, so maybe you've got 2-0 so far. Yeah, maybe you got 2-0 so far. Just saying.

Raider Wil (46:49.207)
Yeah, you're on the winning streak for the playoffs winning streak for the playoffs.

Val (46:50.099)
I'm pretty sure.

Val (46:56.503)
No, no. So on Sunday, we have the Rams at Philly.

Val (47:07.379)
I'm gonna go for Philly.

Raider Wil (47:12.621)
Billy.

Val (47:14.511)
Okay. Maddie B.

Matty B (47:21.833)
Give me the Rams.

Val (47:22.227)
He didn't. I was just about to say he's gonna go for the rims. I was just about to say that.

Raider Wil (47:25.571)
Yeah, I like

Matty B (47:25.789)
Yeah, think about this thing about that. It's going to be Matt Stafford and the Rams against Jared Goff and the Lions in the in the NFC Championship game.

Raider Wil (47:36.165)
I could see it. You could see it.

Val (47:42.847)
already got you. Hello, sorry. Wow, Val. All right, so we have Baltimore at Buffalo.

Matty B (47:46.505)
you

Raider Wil (47:57.598)
Well, by gosh, that game is a tough one.

Val (48:03.611)
and I'm going for Buffalo as well.

Raider Wil (48:10.071)
Buffalo, yep, I'm gonna go with Buffalo. It's at Buffalo, game's gonna be outside. I love Lamar Jackson, but man, playing against that defense in that cold, the way they're gonna be bringing that wood.

Matty B (48:25.285)
Mark Jackson's on one this year too, he's For the last like eight years, so.

Raider Wil (48:28.173)
Yep.

Raider Wil (48:31.875)
So what do you think, you betty B?

Matty B (48:34.159)
I got Buffalo. All right. I said that. Yeah, yeah, said that was first one.

Raider Wil (48:35.255)
You got Buffalo too? man.
